Goat Droppings – January 20160
Capricon 36 is just a few weeks away. Take a look at the latest edition of Goat Droppings to get a peek at what we have planned.
Capricon at Duckon0
Capricon 32: Amazing Adventures! is throwing a party tonight at Duckon. Visit us in room 4101 from 9:30 PM until the goats come home and we’ll help you choose your next adventure!
Visit our fan table on Saturday and Sunday to learn more about Capricon 32: Amazing Adventures! Find out where it will take you…
Beware the CHEAPER Ides of Phandemonium0
So in a case of pure coincidence and good timing… today’s groupon is $10 for $20 worth of food and drink at Fox and Hound. So if you were planning on coming out to join us… why not do yourself a favor and pick one of these up. This has been a public service announcement.
Beware the Ides of Phandemonium0
The Ides of Phandemonium continues with a Happy Hour(s) celebration at Fox and Hound in Arlington Heights, at 7pm sharp! Be there, I know I will be! Look for the tired doctor with a drink in his hand!
For those of you a little more geographically challenged… Fox and Hound is located on Dundee Road between Arlington Heights Rd and Rt. 53.
Capricon 31 – Post Con Goat Droppings0
Well here it is folks. The last issue of Goat Droppings related to Capricon 31 Escape! This issue has the wrap up of Sunday’s events along with the winners of the various awards, and an expanded section of the ever popular Out of CON-text notes.
Capricon 31 – Post-Con Goat Droppings
Thanks again to everyone who came out to Capricon this year and had a great time, we hope we’ll see you again next year, or during the course of the year at one of Phandemonium’s other events, like the Book Club, Euchre Club, FEAST and Ides events. And for those of you who couldn’t make it to Cap this year… well there’s always next year. Start planning now…. we are.
Tuesday Funk #32 meets Capricon 320
In an odd sort of cosmic fate kind of thing, one of Capricon 32’s upcoming Guests of Honor will be doing a reading at Tuesday Funk #32. What is Tuesday Funk you ask? Well let me borrow some content from their website, since really I’m not going to be able to explain it better than they can.
Tuesday Funk is an eclectic Chicago reading series, hosted by Sara Ross and William Shunn, bringing you a variety of fiction, poetry, and essays the first Tuesday of every month. Join us next on March 1st, 7:30 pm, upstairs at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL. Tuesday Funk is the official reading series of the Gothic Funk Nation.
So that’s what Tuesday Funk is, and on March 1st, Steven Silver, Capricon 32’s Fan Guest of Honor will be giving a reading. So come on out and see him, have some beer and have a good time. Maybe when you see him at Capricon next year you’ll be able to say “I saw him way back when… before he became famous.”
More Goat Droppings0
As promised the little slave goats have finished turning all those dead trees into an electronic format so now you can read the Sunday edition of Goat Droppings online. You lucky people you…
Ides of Phandemonium0
Just a quick reminder that the zombie goat party is happening tonight at 7 pm at the RAM brewery in wheeling. Right across the stet from the cap hotel. See you there.
An Amazing Adventure (Capricon 32!)0
I know Capricon 31 is just barely over. We haven’t even posted up Sunday and the Post-Con editions of Goat Droppings, but let’s talk about Capricon 32 for a moment shall we. The website hasn’t been updated yet, probably won’t be for at least a month. But… we want to share the news for those poor unfortunate souls who couldn’t make it to Closing Ceremonies, and haven’t heard it from anyone else…. We’re going to have guests of honor. I know you’re shocked.
Capricon 32 will be held Feb 9th through Feb 12th 2012 right back at the same Westin Northshore in Wheeling, IL. And what about those Guests of Honor you say… well I’m glad you asked, here ya go:
Author Guest of Honor – Cory Doctorow
Artist Guest of Honor – Les McClaine
Fan Guest of Honor – Steven Silver
There… that ought to hold you for a little while.
Bryan Palaszewski’s Closing Remarks to Cap 310
It appears that Bryan posted comments to Facebook that by my reading he wanted to share with everyone at closing ceremonies. Since that didn’t happen because we had the tired, I hope he doesn’t mind me repeating them here.
Proposed for the closing ceremonies, Capricon 31.
by Bryan Palaszewski
All Hail Capricon 31!!
Greetings from Bryan Palaszewski and the NASA Glenn Research Center.
I am so sad that I could not attend Cap 31. 🙁 Of course, I wish I could have been there. The responsibilities of my job required me to be in Florida to assist the Government in searching out for some alleged bad guys. I believe they have been identified and will be brought to justice.
I know that a great set of activities, films, songs, discussions, deliberations, imbibations, and competitions were greatly enjoyed at the Con. I could see a tiny sliver of that joy on Facebook and from your e-mails. I’m so glad that you had a great time. 🙂
Capricon represents some the finest in fandom and the tireless team of the ConCom continues to sustain a fabulous high-quality con for all of us.
BRAVO, CAPRICON! 🙂 🙂
Go and seek out the best of the best in all you do and hope to see all of you at the finest Chicago con next year. Go, and have a blast!
