We wanted to take a moment to talk with you about the food and beverage options you will have available to you at Capricon 46.
We have worked hard with the Marriott, and we’re excited to announce that there will be a limited Consuite in addition to several meal deals for Capricon members at the Marriott.
Dining in the Marriott Chicago O’Hare
Eating in the Marriott is, quite honestly, one of the best things that you can do to support Capricon. The hotel really relies upon food and beverage revenue during events like Capricon, and the more we spend, the more they like us and want us to come back. So we really do encourage you to help us out by eating at the Marriott.
To help make our wish come true, our hotel liaisons have worked very hard with the Marriott and have come up with some great deals for you!
Brickton (BRICKton – it’s like they knew we were coming this year!) is the hotel’s main restaurant, and Rooted Grounds is their coffee shop / bar. Both are located in the main lobby.
Rooted Grounds will be offering some fun Capricon themed pastries for us! There are rainbow frosted sugar cookies, Rice Krispy Treats, and mini cupcakes.
Brickton will be offering a breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Offerings vary but there is always an omelette station. Typically there will be scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and bacon, French toast/pancakes, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries, plus coffee and juice. $23.95 for adults and $11.95 for children 12 and under.
For lunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they are offering several discounted “grab and go” options by the River room in the function space area. There will be slices of pizza, salads, turkey sandwiches, chicken tenders and fries, and hot dogs, along with fruit cups, chips, and drinks. Available 11:30am-1:30pm.
There is seating in the lobby and also by the O’Hare ballroom. We ask that you not bring food into Program rooms or the Dealers Room. No food or beverages are allowed in the Art Show or Gaming.
Dinner time brings several special items in Brickton, including two specialty cocktails, two desserts themed just for us, and a few main courses that are only available this weekend!
We are waiting for final confirmation on menu offerings (based on ingredient availability, etc.) so definitely stop by Brickton when you arrive!
Consuite
Yes, there will be a consuite this year! For those of you new to Capricon, a consuite is a place where you can get some drinks and snacks as part of your membership. It isn’t enough to sustain you through the weekend, but it can help keep you caffeinated and take the edge off if you’re feeling snacky.
This year, the consuite will be on the 3rd Floor, with serving from the Randolph room and seating in the pre-function space outside the room. We will offer sodas and pre-packaged snacks only. We will be open:
Thursday 2pm-2am
Friday 9am-2am
Saturday 9am-2am
Sunday 9am-3pm
The seating area is open at any time, and you and your friends are welcome to bring food you buy from the grab-and-go offerings up here to eat.
The BIG RULE.
Absolutely NO food and beverages served from the consuite can go to the main floor function space or lobby.
You may take it to your sleeping room, but otherwise it does not leave the 3rd Floor.
