Our new convention home will be the Sheraton Grand Chicago in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Located at 301 East North Water Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60611. Throughout our discussions with the Sheraton this past year, we have been delighted by their commitment to make our experience an outstanding one. We are excited to make this space our new home!
Rates are $121 per night plus taxes for a King or Double Bed room. You can make a reservation via the link below.
Capricon has arranged for discounted parking at the Sheraton during the run of the convention. The details are:
- Parking at the Sheraton will be $15/day for convention members.
- This rate is available even if you are not staying in the hotel.
- Hotel guests will have first access, so it cannot be guaranteed for non-guests.
Parking at the hotel does not include in/out privileges. We are aware this causes problems for some members and have arranged for a number of parking passes that will include in/out for people with need (mobility, health, etc). Passes are limited, please contact us at email@example.com if you need to request one and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Hotel parking is also available for non-guests of the hotel. Validation will be available at the front desk of the hotel. Details on the parking validation process for discounted rates will be made available soon for those opting to not stay at the hotel.
If the parking fills up, or if you would prefer not to worry about altering your plans if it fills up before you get on site, we have noted that Spot Hero has 3 discounted parking options across the street from the Sheraton that have shown rates of $14 to $22 for parking sessions of at least 12 hours. These 3 lots have shown themselves to be consistently the cheapest in the area on Spot Hero so far:
- 225 E North Water Street
- 400 N McClurg Court
- Ogden Plaza Garage (300 E North Water Street)
Spot Hero prices are subject to change but can be purchased in advance, so you could possibly lock in $14 for 12 hours of parking during Capricon right now and be set.
It should be noted that the Ogden Plaza Garage is an excellent choice if it can be booked because that garage elevator connects to the Sheraton directly via an enclosed walkway. For folks with mobility issues, there are a couple of low door jams to work around, but it is fairly wide access and there are no stairs. You will enter the hotel on the same level that the Capricon program panels will be held.
