Capricon 41

Music is the soundtrack of our lives. We listen to it in the car, on a walk. We hum a tune and recall a favored memory. And next year music will be the basis for our con. And we will run the gamut from David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust to Janelle Monae’s ArchAndroid Suites, from Tom Lehrer’s Element Song to Tom Smith’s Rocket Ride, from Steampowered Giraffes to Vol-freakin’-taire. Without music, the media we consume falls flat. Scores and music selections direct our emotions. Scientists have even deemed music so important, research suggests it can help preserve or recall more memories in Alzheimer’s patients. So let’s blast off to the outer realms and have a rockin’ good weekend.
