Rockin’ in the Outer Realms!<\/h2>\n

The time to celebrate our love of sci-fi\/fantasy in person is coming! <\/span>Capricon 42: Rockin\u2019 In The Outer Realms<\/b> is set to take place February 3rd-6th, 2022 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago hotel in Chicago, IL. It is our sincerest hope to gather together again in 2022 to celebrate our collective love of all things sci-fi\/fantasy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Science fiction has had a profound impact on the rock music genre over the years – and vice versa. From psychedelic to pop rock to all the sub-genres in between, Rock has had an obsession with the literary genre\u2019s ability to think Beyond. David Bowie introduced us to Ziggy Stardust in <\/span>The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars<\/span><\/i> and Hawkwind had us flying high in <\/span>Space Ritual<\/span><\/i>. Queen had us breaking our vocal chords and pumping our fists to <\/span>Princes of the Universe<\/span><\/i> and yelling \u201cFlash! Aaah!\u201d Sun Ra introduced us to what would later be coined Afrofuturism with the album <\/span>The Space Age Is Here To Stay<\/span><\/i> and Janelle Monae blew us away with <\/span>ArchAndroid<\/span><\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Come with us as we explore all the ways music has come to affect our lives and the science fiction\/fantasy world.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
