Filk
If youre interested in either listening to or making music here at Camp
Capricon, there will be plenty of chances. Start on Thursday night with
a return performance by Howling Beagle, followed by an open filk circle.
On Friday, well have a variety of performances in the Capricon Cafe,
including an acoustic set from our filk guests, Barry and Sally Childs-Helton.
In the evening, were looking forward to hearing from Tom Smith, the Worlds
Fastest Filker, as he returns to our Capricon music stage. Later Friday
night, well be having another open filk circle.
On Saturday, Sally Childs-Helton will be leading a drum workshop. At Closing
Ceremonies on Sunday, our drummers will have a chance to show off what
theyve learned. Later on Saturday afternoon, Barry Childs-Helton will lead
a guitar workshop for us. If youre interested in picking up tips from two
of the finest performers in fandom, youll want to catch one or both of
these workshops.
Also on Saturday afternoon, well have more performances in the Capricon
Cafe, including solo performances by members of Wild Mercy and others who
Im sure youll enjoy. Saturday night, Wild Mercy returns to Capricon with
a special performance of Barry Childs-Heltons "Dream of a Far Light" song
cycle. Right after the concert, well rearrange the room and Barry will
lead folks in a jam session that runs right into the regular filk circle.
