A beautiful looking film with an Amazing cast! Shakespeare's intertwined love polygons begin to get complicated from the start--Demetrius and Lysander both want Hermia but she only has eyes for Lysander. Bad news is, Hermia's father wants Demetrius for a son-in-law. On the outside is Helena, whose unreturned love burns hot for Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander plan to flee from the city under cover of darkness but are pursued by an enraged Demetrius (who is himself pursued by an enraptured Helena). In the forest, unbeknownst to the mortals, Oberon and Titania (King and Queen of the faeries) are having a spat over a servant boy. The plot gets even more twisted when Oberon's head mischief-maker, Puck, runs loose with a flower which causes people to fall in love with the first thing they see upon waking. Throw in a group of laborers preparing a play for the Duke's wedding (one of whom is given a donkey's head and Titania for a lover by Puck) and the complications become fantastically funny.

Description: Our NASA guest, Bryan Palaszewski, will present an overview of NASA's 1987-92 Space Exploration Initiative study, as well as current plans to send humans to the planet Mars. The objectives of the program, mission overview, Earth-Mars transit space propulsion systems (nuclear thermal and nuclear electric), space environment concerns, how people would live on the Martian surface, and initial colonization plans are covered. Current status of the ongoing robotic mission (Global Surveyor) and the role of the NASA Glenn Research Center during this effort are explained.

Bryan Palaszewski - Vision of Space Exploration

Description: Our NASA guest, Bryan Palaszewski, will show a presentation that focuses on the early history, development, and future of moon bases and the related transportation vehicles for space exploration. It covers moon base concepts and proposed developments from the early days of lunar exploration to the uses of moon bases for the future of human exploration of the rest of the Solar System.

The event is augmented with photographs of historical, current, and future moon base ideas and their past and proposed uses.

Carcassonne: The Works

Description: In this fairly light tile-laying offering, players pull a tile from the pool and then place it against one of the previously played tiles. If you create a new object (like a city, road or a monastery), then you can place one of your control markers on the tile to denote your control. Alternately, you can place your marker in the pasture on the tile as a farmer. Markers (called Followers by the publisher and called Meeples by us) cannot directly compete when placed, so to achieve some gains you must place your marker, then use later tiles to connect up to it.

As subsequent tiles are arrayed on the board, objects get bigger or even merge. Once certain objects are completed, like roads and cities, or the monastery is surrounded, then the control marker is returned to you and you score the points. However, farmers are not returned and will score points at the game end (there are several rules variations for the farmer scoring).

Therefore, it's possible to have all of your control markers locked on the board on incomplete objects, and not be able to convert them into farmers later in the game. You must balance the need to score points during the game, and the need to score farmer points at game end.

The goal is to have the most points at the end, which can be tricky to control considering your choice for each turn isn't the tile itself, but rather the placement of the tile that you drew. Think of a more strategic version of Metro's tile placement, with some of the scoring methods from El Caballero or even the Very Clever Pipe Game.

Carcassonne has many expansions and other games in the broader Carcassonne series.

No problem ... you may bid on the **driving rights** of one of several bots we have on hand. Many are past champions. All proceeds go to support RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) - Capricon's charity this year.
