There is a meter lot across the street, but there is also plenty of metered street parking on Lincoln (sadly, you now have to feed the meters on Sunday). Free parking is available on side streets and on Lincoln between Montrose and Sunnyside. If you’re coming via public transportation, the closest stop is Western on the Brown Line. Remember to buy lots of food and drink!

January F.E.A.S.T.

Phandemonium will be holding their next F.E.A.S.T. event in Buffalo Grove, not too far from the Capricon Hotel.

We will be enjoying the cultural cuisine of Japan with Hanabi Restaurant located at 734 South Buffalo Grove in the Buffalo Grove Plaza at Dundee Road.

This Japanese Experience will be on Sunday, January 23 at 6pm.  Please let us know if you will be attending no later than January 18 as we do make reservations for the group. We hope to see many of you there.

Phandemonium Book Club – “The God Engines”

There will be a book club meeting at Capricon 31. We’ll be discussing GoH John Scalzi’s novel, “The God Engines”. Capricon 31 is being held from February 10-13, 2011 at the Westin Chicago North Shore, 601 N Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, IL. The exact date and time of the book club is TBD.

Phandemonium Book Club – “Boneshaker”

The January book club will be the steampunk novel, “Boneshaker” by Cherie Priest. We will be meeting on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Borders Books in Evanston, IL (1700 Maple Ave). We hope to see you there!

So while Capricon is busy throwing a party Friday night to help promote this year’s convention, Escape!, Phandemonium will be busy at Windycon as well. Or more particularly, the Phandemonium Book Club. Come join us at Windy and add to the discussion. The book club will have not one but two sessions over the course of the weekend.

On Saturday, November 13th , from noon to 1PM in the Walnut Room, we will be discussing, The City and the City by China Mieville

And for those of you still around on Sunday, November 14th, we’ll be discussing The Wind-Up Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi, Also in the Walnut Room from noon to 1PM. (Maybe we should just rename it the Phandemonium Book Club Room)
